      Hector's 40 breeder of madness~

Hello everyone, I’m putting together a 40 breeder reef tank that will be few weeks until I get it going. I had my friend Tim build me the stand great guy. It took him about 6 hrs working on it non stop. I had a $100 budget I spend 92 so far on materials. I'm also going to be drilling the tank. I purchased the tank at petco $1 gallon sale. I'm going to be ordering the kit from glass holes 700 gph plus the returns. Going to be doing full plumming on this bad boy. Also thinking about adding a display fuge of macros😃Going to be going with black sand for display and bottom fuge miracle mud. Starting with fresh new sand. For lighting I have a Kessil 160 and a Ai vega but mite sell the vega to purchase a kessil love kessil more. Lol I think that's it guys mite stain stand still don't know what color. Enjoy! WARNING HEAVY ON PICS! Tim pre drilling the holes for the legs.FrameComing together😃 Tank on top perfect match. They where made for each other. LolPicked this moldings I think it looks nice gives character to the stand. Still need to fill the small nails with wood filler. Then sand it. One last pic of Tim the builder of the stand. Did a nice job!

Drilling Glass? I would caution you to make certain that they did not temper the glass in the tank, as it will crumble into pieces if they did.

I am not that familiar with Petco tanks? I just could not sit silent knowing what will happen if that tank is tempered.

      Looks great over all!

Hey update on the tank I'm going to be ordering my overflow today from glass holes. Also going to be picking up a 20 gallon high tank. They have the $1 gallon sale going on now at petco. It's going to end next Saturday if anyone wants to pick up a tank. Going to be building the sump. Well not me my friend Tim, Hahaha should be done with the sump by next week. And the overflow takes about 3 days to get delivered.

Posting some update pics as tonight. I picked up a Kessil A360WE added with my T5's I really like that shimmering on the tank. As you guys no you can't get that alone with T5s

Added few corals and took few more pics for fun. Going to be adding more coral this week some nice corals.😀

There's nothing wrong with enjoying looking at the surface of the ocean itself, except that when you finally see what goes on underwater, you realize that you've been missing the whole point of the ocean. Staying on the surface all the time is like going to the circus and staring at the outside.
