I have one you are welcome to borrow, it fits my m62 motor. Not sure if they are all the same but I can measure it tomorrow. I know I'm not close to you, but if you can't find a closer one, it's an option at least.

you guys are great. USPS ships from the house and will cost about $10, less than gas to get there and takes about 36hrs or less to deliver.
When it comes back maybe there will be a frag in the box!

My BMW fan tool consists of several bloody knuckles and long strings of curse words. Sloppy but works well.

It is pretty easy to make one. Mine is homade because I didn't want to wait for one to be shipped. Home Depot has 1" steel bar, drill two holes and grind down to fit around the fan shaft.

I have this set up from blue point. I could let you borrow it. If you would return it asap, you can pick it up at the BMW dealer were I work or in the South Bay Area, pm if interested Name: image.jpg

Thank you so much guys for your help. My friend who just got back from the trip has one and I am picking them up tomorrow.
But I think I will order them on ebay anyway cause the thermostat housing on Bmw x5 always fail. Again thanks

By the way, I changed the fuel filter today and its a pain to remove it

I know the issue is moot for Midel, but for future reference, I used to use a bicycle crank hub wrench on my E32's. Worked perfectly. IDK if the newer beemers still use the same size nut on the clutch but just throwing it out there in case it can help someone in the future. Cheers.

Yes, bought one from ebay. Comes with the wrench and the special tool to hold the fan clutch. S20
Sears sell the special tool for $45, I think.
But this is the one I got from ebay
