      Strange acting clown

Hello, I have a clown that's been acting funny the last couple days. Lately she has been placing herself against the overflow to stay in one spot. When I go to feed the tank though she swims right up grabs food until it's all gone then goes back to her spot. She will occasionally swim through the tank but for the most part stays in the one spot. It's not like she drifts there though, she goes there on purpose and sits. Could this be a sickness or nesting behavior maybe? I've got another clown that has been in there with her for over a year now. Nothing else has been added recently. I just went from 4 fish down to the 2 clowns. Water parameters are stable and temp has been stable for over a week at 76 since it has cooled down from the heat wave. I just did a water change with scripps today as well. This has been going on about 2 days now. Any ideas?

Yeah I've seen strange hosting behaviors in clowns I've had in the past. This one is just a little more out of the ordinary for me.

I've seen bonding issues before where each clown will stay on opposite sides of the tank from one another.
And had to switch out clown(s) completely

Whats the other clowns behavior like ?
how long have they been together ?

if clown for last year has a certain spot and doesn't take or bond to new clown,
switch up rocks and scape if possible to confuse em, they feel vulnerable and team up together hopefully.
Has worked before for a client.

      Good Luck on sitch-o buddy

They have gotten along just fine. I have seen no aggression between them and when she comes away from the overflow they swim together. The other one is smaller and his behavior is normal. He swims around but doesn't go far from the other one. Like he's watching her. At night they both sleep up near the overflow.

If they are paired up, the female might be getting ready to put her eggs on the overflow maybe ?

That is kind of the direction I'm thinking. She hasn't gotten plump yet like they normally do though. She seems perfectly healthy, eats fine, isn't skinny. My wife is hoping for clown eggs too, she's pretty excited

Well I got home a little bit ago and my wife has been feeding the fish all day. Both now have guts from eating so much food they seem happy and normal. Maybe all they needed was one day at an all you can eat buffet

Well good news, the clown is acting normal again today. Still fat from her feast yesterday but she seems happy. Also heard they kept cleaning an area on the rocks so maybe that is why she seemed tired. Hopefully this means they will start breeding soon. I'll keep them well fed moving forward. Also, since one is a picasso and the other a divinci, I have decided the offspring, if there are any, will be pivincis
