So two nights ago my RBTA looked a little lackluster, sort of deflated and closed up. Then I noticed it stretching through a hole in the live rock it is attached to. Lights went out and I figured when I woke up there would be two, sure enough yesterday I have two RBTAs. I know that I caused the stress which led to the split. Last weekend I had to pull all of the rock out to catch a fish. This made a mess of the tank and also moved the location the nem had lived for the past year or so.
I got some good shots of the nem first thing when the lights came on, the bisection is clearly visible and healing. By last night both nems looked normal again. Figured I would share some of the pics.
Here is a couple pics of the RBTA a couple days before the split
Here you can see the two new RBTAs, was a little hard to get a pic of the second nem on the back of the rock.
These you can really see the wound from the replication.
Seems to be healing and healthy.
Heres the state the tank was in while catching the fish and I'm sure it was the cause for the split. This was just after I pulled about 1/3 of the rock out, got pretty bad by the time I had pulled it all out.
Since its sort of on topic figured I'd share a couple other pics of this same nem.
This was the end of its journey from my refugium to my display.
Was pretty small when it started.
I really like the colors it gets after little to no light for a week or so. This was just after it crawled out from hiding for a week or two under a rock.
