Noisy return into my sump!

Would anyone be willing to come to my home & help quiet my sump down! The loud gurgling is getting to be too noisey! It used to be quiet but now is very loud for some reason. My set up has been nearly the same for 7 years!

I would be willing to pay you in cash or frags for your time if you can solve my issue! When it is quiet it's a beautiful thing!

Does your setup have small holes in the top of the standpipe? Maybe it got clogged

If it used to be quiet and now noisy I would think you have some blockage. Have you made any changes? New return pump? What style drain are you running?

I spent time looking at your tank thread, and it would be worth it to come check out your tank and pick your brain on what you have been doing to keep such a fine reef for the last 7 years. I'd be up for the frag(s) for sure!
I agree that there is probably something that has blocked the return flow to cause the noise. Could be growth inside the pipes, or blockage, or??? Otherwise, did you change anything that would impact the water level in the sump?

Ron, Have you tried removing the impeller to see if the magnet it swollen?

Yes, my standpipes do have holes at the top. I checked them & they seem to be clear.

Are the holes adjustable? Have you tried closing them off a little? Like with your finger to see if that does it

Hey Sanchez, yes I agree. I did replace the sump awhile ago but left the plumbing the same. Funny, as long as I've been in this hobby I'm not sure of the name or style my drain is. I have two over flows 1/2" I think.

Not adjustable but I have not tried closing them off. The standpipes are adjustable & can slide up & down to adjust the water level in the overflow.
