went with the thicker grain dry sand so i don't get any sand storms!

if anyone can give me a cup of live sand when its done cycling i would greatly appreciate it!

the plumbing is very simple in design with a couple of unions for maintenance

also went to scripps to get some water! Girlfriend is helping me throughout this journey what more can a reefer ask for?!

Now the brs reef saver rock is in veron Ca as i type... i just hope UPS ships on saturdays!!!
all i need now is a light and powerhead
going with kessill 360Ew and the gyre 130 for flow

When i first started my salt water, i put dead shrimp in to facilitate the cycling process.

A lot of reefers tend to do this as oppose to cycling with live fish. I.e damsels or other cheap fish. Cruelty to the fish going through ammonia spikes.

      next on the list:

      Kessil 360w with controller
Brs Doser for carbon dosing via vinegar controlled by rkl

the ammonia has already risen 4ppm! with nitrite .50ppm. Hopefully the cycle will be done within the next couple of weeks! can't wait

Hmmm. Using a piece of dead shrimp versus using a living fish to kick start cycling your tank and raising the ammonia level. Let me think about this......don't think the piece of shrimp would suffer as much. Just my opinion. Lol.
