      Skimmer is blowing bubble

My skimmer looks like a broke washing mashing over flowing with bubbles. Anyone else ever delt with this prolem? I have taken the pump apart and cleaned it, changed the air line and cleaned the port it hooks up to. Any ideas? The only thing I have done differently is remove the carbon. I did that about a month ago. This problem started about two weeks ago. Pic below for reference.

Any dead fish or something else that could be contributing to increased nutrients in the water? Also, can you adjust the water flow on your skimmer to a lower level?

All fish are accounted for. I could adjust it yes, but then I would just be covering up the problem in my opinion. It's the size of the bubbles that are causing this, If that makes any sense.

If your collection cup has a drain hose use that so the skimmaklte goes into a 5 gal bickering the top on it and some holes so u can put the tumble and another to see how full is.

But the collection cup isn't full, the issue is the size of the bubbles. They seem to be extremely large and because of that they force their way out through the slots on lid lid.

Not that I know of. I just put carbon back in the system, I'll see if that does anything.

What did your skimmate/bubbles in collection cup look like before? What skimmer is it and what level of water is it sitting in? Also, as Jason suggested, maybe lower the level of water inside the skimmer.
      150g glass w/ corner overflow , 60g sump w/refugium, Eheim 1262 return, SRO 2000int skimmer, ATI Dimmable Sunpower 8x54w fixture, 2 Tunze 6105 and 2 tunze 6025 modded.

The bubbles would just fall right over the edge into the collection cup. Now they stay bubbly and end up oozing through the slots. Again, I don't want to adjust the water level in the skimmer just to put a band-aid over my problem. The skimmer is sitting in 12" of water.

Looks like an asm skimmer? If so, try cleaning the venturi where the tube connects. Ive had issues in the past with calcium buildup and had to clean it out.

Skimmers are built to be adjusted, on my asm if the filter on the output tube started to get clogged the bubble level would change. Or if i used epoxy to mount frags i would get something very similar to what you are experiencing. And now the problem is just going to be exponential as your skimmer is pouring the nastiness directly back into the tank where is sucks it in again. IMO adjust the skimmer until it has cleaned up whatever is causing the extra foamy skimmate, then adjust it again back to where it normally resides. It should only take a few seconds to adjust the output tube, maybe it just got bumped and needs to be adjusted anyway.

I added carbon and within a few minutes the skimmate returned to normal. No more over flowing bubbles.
