      Calcium

      What is the easiest way to add calcium to a tank with out a reactor

      Add calcium powder (Calcium Chloride).

      Haha love it! 3 responses and 3 different answers. What does that say? Lots of good ways out there, try a few and see what works best for your tank.

      I'm just trying to find the easiest way I've always had fowler tanks now trying some thing different

      Make sure you are dosing alk and calcium, they go hand in hand. Constant Magnesium level will also keep your calcium and alk stable

      Definitely need to be testing for all 3. What are your goals or plans with your tank? A heavy sps load makes manual dosing a pain and one of the major keys to successful sps keeping is constant and stable parameters.

      My lfs store told me to put a calcium block in once a month is that not a good idea?

      Short answer: no. You have no control over how much gets released. It could cause an OD.

      If it's just zoas and you do regular water changes you will not need to dose calcium. How often do you do water changes and do you use Scripps or mix?
