      My CadLights 8

Bought a used CadLights 8 here a few weeks ago. I bought it to replace my 5 gallon eco pico. I love this tank! If anyone is looking for a pico this is as good as it gets. High flow rate pump, mini sump in back that can accommodate a skimmer and heater and starphire glass. I am making a media basket for this tank and will post photos when it is done. I want a skimmer in this tank. I ordered 2. After some research I narrowed it down to the Tunze 9001 and the pico skim 2.0. I will do updates on each skimmer. I also ordered a Tunze osmolator nano. Right now the tank has some various mushrooms and a gbta with clown, sexy shrimp, peppermint shrimp, and some bristol worms. The bristol worm were hitchhikers from the 5 eco pico. I like the bristol worms and think they have a place in the tank...so dont hate. Here is a pic from tonight. I wish I had my Nikon ready as the iphone pics kinda suck.

Set up the osmolator and tunze skimmer today. I am amazed that this stuff fits. I might still have room for the cad lights bio pellet reactor set up in the hob configuration. The tunze 9001 is very nice for a tiny skimmer. So far very impressed.

Maybe on the reactor, it depends on how big the plumbing is on the reactor. It wont fit in the back. but it can be configured as a HOB reactor. If it doesn't work it goes up for sale here. The skimmer may never produce enough skimate to be effective as a skimmer but it oxygenates the water with no micro bubbles in the tank that I am happy with. Will post photos once the wife is back as she has the Iphone..I have a work paid for flip phone and I cant find the charger to my camera.

if I add the reactor it will be HOB. and will have to modify the light mount to accomodate it. but I think it will work. This is my overkill 8 gallon. Next is a nice light than I can start adding some real coral. As I dont think the stock LED will support much more than soft corals. The Tunze skimmer is silent and no microbubles in tank. Right now I am trying to build a ATO tank that the wife can live with. She is not impressed with my DIY modified 5 gallon tote. Any Ideas??

My only complaint is the Tunze osmolator nano did not come with the english instructions. German, French, and Russian??? I was able to get the English online. The skimmer came with both instructions. Although on the Osmolator there are 2 settings small tanks and larger tanks I am kinda lost on this. has anyone had one of these? I dont get it. took the control unit apart and there doesnt appear a 1 and 2 setting like the instructions show. Am I missing something?

It was your tank that inspired this . For someone that is not very DIY your tank is gorgeous. I dont think you need to have DIY skills to have a nice tank.
