      Blue Acros and LEDs

      Hi,
I've tried a couple different blue-colored acroporas under my LEDs but they just seem to fade to a ple blue or morph. Everything else seems to hold color. Anyway, has anyone had success keeping blue acroporas true, such as cali tort, oregon tort, blue tenuis, blueberry tenuis, paletta blue stag, Tyree blue matrix, Tyree blue stag, ...
I have Maxspect 300W full-spectrum LEDs . I really don't want to add other lights if I don't have to.

The LEDs ramp between these program points:
      6:30am 0%white 0%blue
      10:30am 5% 20%
      12-noon 15% 45%
      1:30pm 20% 65%
      3:00pm 5% 20%
      10:00pm 0% 0%

Looking for any success stories with LEDs.
      1. coral name
      2. tank placement (height, flow)
      3. LED color and cycle (whites vs blue mix)
      4. any other tips

      Thanks,
      John

I have an Oregon tort that is holding its color and growing well. I have it at the top of the tank about 6" from the water line directly under the light in the center

      Hi Duke4130,
What kind of LEDs do you have?
Can you provide details on your lighting program (whites/blues percentages and timing)
      Thanks

I am running a radion g2 pro... I will get back to you on the percentages because I don't exactly remember how I set it up but I do know that it peaks for a total of about 3-4 hours then starts to ramp down

I have a thornberry acro (pretty sure that's the name) from aquasd that is a very nice blue. I am running a hybrid DIY LED system which consists of nanobox pucks and 2x 24" T5's. My blue channel runs at 1A max while the white channel runs at 700ma max. Also have a rapidled quad core violet channel which is 500ma.

      T5's - ATI Coral+ / Wave Point Superblue
      LED - white 50% / blue 50% / violet 80%

10 hour photoperiod no ramping everything just turns on and off.

Tank placement - all acros are right in the vertical center of an 18" tall tank with 1/2" sand bed. Flow wise the SPS have 2 RW-4's pointing directly at them in H mode 4 lights.

My light leans more to the white side as I am not a fan of blue tanks.

I am dosing KZ sponge power, coral vitalizer, amino acid LPS, pohl's extra and coral snow. Also dose brightwell potassion and magnesion every other day. I am running potassium quite higher than normal and SPS seem to like it. For equipment all I have are the two RW-4 and a Tunze 9004 with a bag of purigen in the bottom compartment. No sump, fuge, etc. No heater as well but will put one in for winter.

I have a blue tort that was the first SPS I put in my tank. Unsure of the exact name. I'll post a pic. It has the biggest polyp extension out of all my SPS and has doubled in size over about 4 months. I keep it about 6 inches from the top and my LED is about 10 inches from the water. I run Radion Gen 3 Pro with the following program in fusion.

It's about 50/50. I have zoos and chalices too.

Hi diegoluv, Thanks for posting your light program. I plotted my program against the graph above and noticed the light energy in my tank is about half!
So I plan to slowly raise the LED intensity to try to mimic what you have.
      Thanks Again

I've tried setting the % to 75 but it seemed to be too much for my tank.
