They're usually called permeate pumps. I have one on my system and it works great.

Dugaru, do you use a permeate pump like this? Is it effective and reliable?

Yup, I use one. Picked mine up from BRS, but it's close to, if not the same as that one. Works great. Definitely increased my output. It does make a little clicking noise that the wife is not fond of, but it's not too bad.

for DI water you should not use a booster pump. You really want low pressure to the DI resin. If your trying to increase your output add another RO membrane and run your waste to it. That will double your daily output.

My water pressure is at 40. I'm want to increase it to reduce waste water. The membrane is 90 gpd. Output ratio is 5:1. I thought its ideal to have 60-80 water pressure. Any suggestions?

Do you use a pressurized storage tank with it or can I do it without one?

My pressure is at 60, i get 4:1 out of my system. Adding a booster pump is a good Idea. Make sure you add it after your pre filters before the membrane. If no one has one for sale here there are so many available on ebay under $100

the storage tank is really for drinking water. You dont want the high pressure water from the tank going to the di resin. Mine is set up so I get drinking water and DI water off the same system.

It is after my pressure tank, yes. However I have the flow rate turned down by a ball valve so that the flow it's not too high for the DI
