RO water from water stores?

Does anyone use this water for top off? My tank looks like its evaporating ~2.5g a week and thinking about using 5g jugs with RO water from water store for an ATO and also put some kalk in it.

i buy my RO/DI from the LFS for top off.
it's not that pricey. but i have a small tank.

Just play it safe best to use ro/di or complications over time "may" occur. Not saying for sure but just a possibility.

You really want RODI. Buy a RODI unit they come up for sale here all the time. Or you can pick up a new one for under $200. The bad thing about buying RODI from a store is that you really dont know if it is 0 TDS water. Water in San Diego is so bad. I have a 75 gallon per day unit. I no longer buy bottled water. If your planning on keeping a reef tank a RODI is a must have. Most LFS sell RODI water but making trips to the LFS to fill up jugs gets old quick.

Ohh that's quite cheap. Didn't know it was that cheap to get from there. I am using distilled right now. For saltwater I am just using Scripps. I'll just get 2x 5gal jugs for my top-offs so only have to hit them about once a month.

Yap..some lfs sells them .50-$150. And I trust AW that they check their TDS regularly.
I would grab at least 20g per week, especially if you are going to use it to mix your water

If you are going to store it keep it oxygenated. Dont let it sit stagnant. A small power head in your storage tank will work.

Are you the guy that lives in Ramona? What you will spend on gas over 6 months will pay for a RODI. I added it up for myself. What I was spending on bottled drinking water + trips to the LFS for RODI. My RODI is saving me $200 or more a year. I bought mine on Ebay under $200 and I bought a 3 year supply of filters for $175. I now have great tasting drinking water plus 0 TDS DI water for my tank. Best investment I ever made. Now my recycle bin only has beer bottles in it. As opposed to hundreds of plastic water bottles.
