      pH too high 8.65-8.70

      Good morning everyone.

My pH seems to stay at 8.65 pretty stable. It rises even higher to 8.8 and even 9 so times whenever ATO with KALK kicks in at night. What is the best way to lower it down to desired 8.3.

I know you can add vinegar, but is t safe, will it have any negative effects, will it lower my ALK as well since pH and ALK go together hand in hand?.

Or maybe my # is ok and I should not worry about it? I was told if I raise my ALK to 8 and CA to 450 pH will buffer on its own, but it is not happening. Been like this for the past 2.5 - 3 months.

      Thanks

Run less kalk? Are your corals not doing well?

are you dosing for CA and Alk or running a CA reactor in addition to Kalk dosing?

Corals doing fine. Ca and alk at normal levels.

I have 2 part and addung if needed. But mainly using ATO with kalk. CA stays good but ALK tends to drop a little faster so adding some of that as well. By adding alk ph goes up but if dont alk goes down.

If it ain't broken don't fix it... maybe a little less kw in the top off and a little more carbonate buffer

Have the solution, but no time. Actually here is a question. Is the 7 and 10 pH calibration solution reusable? How long can it be stored after opening the packages?
