I feel like my success with coral started when I stopped doing so many water changes. IMO anything over a 5% change can “shock” corals. When we acclimate fish, do we suddenly dump 20% more water into their bucket? No and they are far more tolerant of water condition changes than many corals. As I see it, water changes are only for reducing nitrates, phosphates and adding trace elements and even then, it needs to be a gradual process in doing so.
