Drying out new rock for upgrade

I have a quick question. I just pulled my LR out of my tank and its sitting in buckets of tank water. When I upgrade I'm going to essentially start over. New cycle, etc. I don't really care to keep any "life" on the rock. My plan was to just dry them out on a tarp and when I'm ready to cycle the new tank, let them cure in there. Is there a better or a more "acceptable" way to clean them?

Not really when i dry mine i normally try to scrub all of the algea and introvert what is on the rock. after dying it you can put the rock in a bin with water and a light to let it cycle before you put you in the tank but there isn't really much else to do

Thanks. I figured a couple weeks on a tarp should have everything die off and I'll cure it when I cycle.
