I have a quick question on how to become a SDMAS member and how do you find out about events?

Yes +1 I've been to one awhile back when I thought I was ready for reefing and it was amazing!

Your already a member!!!! Sd reefs and sdmas merged a little bit back.. but maybe ask marlin h20poloman about meetings and what not.

Yes SDReefs and SDMAS have merged. If you are a premium member of SDReefs, then you are an SDMAS member as well. Also, any of us with red names here are SDMAS board members and we can answer any questions you may have. Currently we are working on some get togethers for this year. We are always open for suggestions too.

Before 'reefing' (not sure I qualify to remove the quotes) I lived in the Bay Area and kept mostly cichlids. I used to attend monthly Pacific Coast Cichlid Association (PCCS) meetings. They were held in the back room of a Round Table Pizza. Speakers, fish talk, auction off some goodies, and beer by the pitcher made for good fish fun. What happened to the days of monthly fish club meetings?
