Using dimmable LED's with RKE and Apex

Could someone explain how the controllers work with Dimmable LED's?
Example: If my current LED fixture is dimmable, will that function work within the software, or manually on the fixture? Can the controller dim the lights with the fixture set at 100%?

If I go with Tunze powerheads, does the RKE or Apex controller replace the Tunze controller? Why would I still need the Tunze controller?

      Thanks!

I know for t5 you need an alk module, sent quote me but that's what I've learned for t5...
120 gallon. I throw money at it, and it grows colorful sticks.

What lights do you have? I can offer much more specific info if I know that.

Well, I guess you would call them a generic clone fixture. 120W Bridgelux - 55-3w Bridgelux LEDs, Seperate blue/white power and dimmer knobs. 90 Degree lens.

Using dimmable LCD's with RKE and Apex

I can't tell by looking at your link if the fixture allows for electronic dimming. If it does, then an aquarium controller can control it. Different controllers may or may not require the purchase of additional modules or cables. The RKE and RKL will require an ALC module. Not sure on the Apex but Russ will know.

As for Tunze power heads, no you will not need a Tunze controller. The Apex, RKE or whatever controller you get will do everything for the power heads.

      Thanks Dave!
Do you know if I would do any damage to my light by trying to dim it via the RKE?
Thanks for the info on the Tunze controller, that will save me some $$$.

I don't see any indication that that fixture has external dimming inputs.

Fixtures which are compatible with the RK or Apex accept 0-10 volt analog control signals. And this is usually clearly stated in the product description if it is available.

This is all the documentation that is on the light itself:

      LED Aquarium Light
      Power: 120W
      Input Voltage: AC86-264V
      Frequency 50-60Hz
