165 watt LED Fixtures

Dimmable LED Fixtures: $150 Each OBO (Buy all 3 for $400)

-LED’s were purchased in July. They have separate dimmable switches for actinic and whites. 165 w fixtures have 27 3watt 14k white, 14 3watt blue 460nm and 14 3watt purple 440nm

Each fixtures covers a 2x2x2 area (2 cubic feet)

I'm not sure if they have warranty. I bought them in the group buy early July. I don't know who would do the warranty work on them since we ordered them

These appear to be based on a common grow-light platform, probably out of Shenzhen, China.
The LED mix is customized for reef tanks, and then again for the group buy.
The manufacturers there will usually honor their warranty, but you have the two-way shipping costs and time.
Manufacturer name and/or US distributor name might be on the shipping boxes or the actual fixtures.

The form factor is so pervasive though that you could likely find sevice/repair in the US fairly easily, or DIY.

Cool i was interested in all 3 but if you don't know then either do I! Thanks! The company that sold them would do the warranty!!! Original group buy thread said 3 year warranty! I'm not worried about shipping costs for warranty. I want the warranty in case something serious goes wrong that I can fix myself! Warranty is Ease of mind for a buyer

Yes, in many cases, a warranty for electronics has many "gotchas". Not worth the paper it was printed on.

Another issue is the "165 watt". This genre of fixture employs 55 3-watt LEDs, but they are usually driven to 2-watts (approx.), so the fixture is really about 120 watts. Is the fixture in question here truly 165 watts?

The manufacturers often will not warranty the fixture if driven higher. I doubt the end-user really wants to squeeze 10+ years out of a sub $200 light, so it seems to me that they are leaving lots of lumens on the table. I have talked to a number of builders on this issue, and they seem to stand pat.

I've dealt with the china manufacturers a couple of times. With the warranty issues that may arise, they will send replacement parts for the owner to fix the light themself. I've had them send me drivers and diodes, which is good if one can diy, bad if they can not.

that is a steal for these leds, there is a 3 year warranty the 1st year the manufacturer would pay shipping both ways. these are very well built so i doubt you would even use the warranty, i had one that was water damaged and it is still working great. any questions regarding the warranty you can contact me.
