      ALL my TANKS, all my livestock, all my equipment. Time to say goodbye to the hobby.

      Over the next month or two, I'll be posting up ALL of what I have....
      That means. ALL OF IT. From the tanks, to the nets.... it'll all go up for sale!

      Some of you will ask why, so I'll beat ya to the punch;
      I'm still unemployed from my career type job description, going on 30+ months. At this point; I do contract work, and have 2 other businesses (as well as hobbies) I run or use to make money. However, they are not making enough to support THIS hobby AND my bills/mortgage/life. My electric bill over the summer was $500 month, from so many chillers, pumps, lights...etc running in my home (and that includes my SDG&E discount of $130/month)! ...so, instead of selling other tangible goods from my other lifelong hobbies (that don't cost me monthly electricity), the FISH/CORAL tanks have to go. Yes... I'm truly sad to see my stuff go. But, I'd like to keep my house. Priorities I guess
      WITH THAT:
      *** I AM NOT PARTING ANYTHING OUT AT THIS TIME!! ***

      STILL FOR SALE
      240Gal REEF Tank, and all it's contents (livestock) and equipment.

      Soon to come (once all of the above sells);
      - listing of all my spare parts, foods, supplements...etc.etc.

      I've also posted these on Reefcentral, and will update this thread as needed.

      Thanks for looking... PASS THE WORD!!!

      Sorry to hear it JAT!
      Your experience here is valued by many of us and your persistence in fleshing out the details instead of passing on hear say is priceless.
      I understand the priorities, I've been there too...
      Take the time off to plan your next tank... You'll be back.

      You guys are awesome... and I love the support. Seriously... wish I could bottle it, and sell it. LOL

      ... but, I agree. I'll just have to get back into it down the road after a hiatus... and go to a 400gal Reef! I mean, go big or go home... right?!

      NOW... pass the word! I'll give you a finders fee!

      Again... thanks all. I know it sucks... but, sometimes... you just gotta' do it.

      It doesn't seem to end with me though. I just put $500 more into some lighting. And I need $150 worth of food. IF... (big IF)... I could just leave-it-alone, I'd be able to afford it a bit more. With the cold coming, my chillers won't run... and the tank(s) will be more affordable. Like I said, a $630 SDGE bill, isn't affordable on a strict budget of no real income, or only my wife working a solid job.

      I've priced the tanks high enough, where I'd be happy. However, when it comes right down to it... there's not too many people out there who'll spend that kind of loot. I've only gotten one call on my 240 and zero calls on my 135. But I'm okay with it. Every time I feed the fish, and think of losing them... I get pretty bummed. And money only lasts so long... when the joy of a fish tank, lasts and lasts.

      I hope everyone's Monday is a good start to a great week!
