Exclamation think i have Dinoflagellates but not sure. help!

So i started getting stringy brown stuff in my display tank. it wasn't bad tho. then today i looked in my fuge and it was EVERYWHERE with tons of bubbles on it. covering all my good algae and covering almost all the glass. i did a little research and think it may be Dinoflagellates but i'm not sure. can someone help out and identify this nasty stuff please.

That is cyano. You can vacuum it out and/or use Red Slime remover (AW sells it). That usually happens with too many nitrients in the water and not enough flow.

The algea on the left side in the second picture definately looks like red slime. It can often have a more brown color appearance.

The red stuff is red bubble algae. I put that in there. The brown stringy stuff is covering it. That's what I'm questioning

I've never dealt with Dinos but IME, the best way to eradicate algae issues or cyanobacteria is to lower your phosphates --- reduce feeding, lessen light cycle, run carbon and/or a type of gfo/phosban, increase flow if needed, and increase water change cycles. Very common with algae to bloom like that over a day. If you are mixing your own salt and are using RO/DI water, make sure the TDS is reading zero on the water coming out of the RO/DI unit. I've wiped out nasty algae almost overnight just by hooking up a media reactor and running carbon through it. Do those steps and 20% weekly water changes and you should see some significant results. Keep us posted as this is a common issue and I think people need to see the before and after pics sometimes to believe it

      K. I'll try all that. Now I'm still a bit new. So what is a media reactor and, what does it do

A media reactor is just a good way to store the actual media being used and ensure the most water is being filtered through it. I use the bulk reef deluxe reactors but there are plenty of brands out there and they come up for sale used on the boards quite often. If you have a small tank could also just buy chemi-pure or the nylon mesh bags and fill them yourself and place in your sump. If no sump, people usually have room in their hang on the back skimmers - etc. You do need to have a feed pump for media reactors...I believe I use MaxiJet 900's on mine, possibly even the 600.

here is the link for BRS - I'm definitely a fan of their products and media and would always recommend their product - they have a lot of good video's as well on their site - I switched from a generic carbon and moved to their ROX carbon - it's much stronger

I have a 60g display witha 55g sump. And I'm on a limited budget. I could probably just do the bags and put them at the first baffle so water has to pass thru them

I have a reactor you can have if you want to make the drive, you'll need to get a pump for it though.
