      Couple Question for a RKL

      1. How do you calibrate the item? Mine is reading higher then what my other thermometer. Its also bouncing temp between like .2+-
      2. I tried setting up the controller function for my heater but it doesn't let me set the hysteresis.
      3. What ever channel I plug my MH lights and program the controller that channel will blink?

      Any help would be great

Calibration depends on which probe you are calibrating. The temp probe does not need to be calibrated. If you really want to, you will need a highly accurate temp gauge to compare it to.

Using the predefined HEATER setting on the RKL only allows you to set your desired temp. Hysteresis is set automatically at 1.5 degrees to keep your heater from constantly turning on and off. If you want to set hysteresis yourself, then use the CONTROLLER function.

The blinking channel light indicates that channel is in SURE ON mode. When a MH light loses power SURE ON allows the lamp to cool for 15 minutes before it powers the channel back up. The LED will blink during that 15 minutes.

When using the heater function should the thermostat on the heater also be set at the desired value, I have mine set at 77

      Couple Question for a RKL

Most people set the heater thermostat a couple degrees higher than the controller so it will act as a back up if the controller fails to turn the heater off. You want the controller doing the work, but back ups are good.
