      Loud Music

Haha nice. I'm only asking cause I'm going to be getting a new tank soon an it's going to be sitting near some pretty large speakers. It's not like the music will be played everyday but when it does it will be loud.

its pretty established that noise does cause all sorts of problems in water- heck after 9/11 whales were seen to be happier entirely due to the reduction in shipping traffic.

So I'm firmly in the camp of "yes, theyre harmful" but as to how harmful and how disruptive, I have no way of knowing. I wouldnt put a stack of speakers and some slayer on repeat next to my reef, but I dont let my reef determine my music play either.

I personally wouldn't do it. I play loud music all the time, but I think its more about how close you are going to have your speakers next to the tank.

So I just measured the area the tank was going to go and it wouldn't fit there anyways. I would have to move the speakers and P.A. system. So I'm probably going to have to find another place to put the tank.

I agree with Brian (drainbamage) LOL! sound (depending on the volume) can definitely can disrupt and put stress on life stock vibration will hit your tank wall, and it will vibrate also with a specific pitch it can also shatter the glass, plus water will amplify the sound too!

Yup Jackie you read correctly. No rest for addicts. It says so in my profile "I can't keep the same tank more than a year." I promised myself to stop at this tank.
