If you siphon into a sock DO NOT use that water. That was my plan but the worms die quickly and the water coming out of the sock was orange from the toxins they release when they die and stinks pretty bad. These toxins are what cause the problems.

+1 six line wrasse Ime
I feel your pain. Been dealing with these basically a month after my upgrade back in March.
I have a melanarus that hasn't touched them, so I bought 4 blue velvet nudis. They went to work on them right away, but then got sucked up in my tunzes . Since I'm still dealing with the flatworms, and a weekend away on vacation and with no siphoning, I am dealing with huge numbers again. I may try the nudis again, but cover my powerhead intakes with nylon stockings.
When they did go through the powerheads, my tank got very cloudy and I was concerned. I had carbon running which kept everything in good condition. If I loose future nudis, then I will probably break down and use FWE. It's getting harder to siphon as my corals continue to grow.
150g glass w/ corner overflow , 60g sump w/refugium, Eheim 1262 return, SRO 2000int skimmer, ATI Dimmable Sunpower 8x54w fixture, 2 Tunze 6105 and 2 tunze 6025 modded.
where did you buy the nudis from? i need one
Sounds like you guys are close to being at the point of no return, with proper planning and execution FWE can be a valuable tool.
i just dont want to have to do all the water changes that follow fwe
Blue velvet nudi will eat them lick a lawn mower but they only live for a few weeks to a few months.
I would doa few things.
1.suck them out
2. flat worm exit for a few weeks
3. in the mean time buy a few diffrent recomended fish and blue velvet nudi or five.
How big is your tank, you should have the total volume of extra water on hand ready to go.
I hate flatworms destroyed my 10 gallon reef few years back

i have a 90 gallon cube, i think the dims are 30 x 30 x 24
You can do battle "naturally" for months with no assurance that you will succeed or bite the bullet and completely eradicate those little buggers within a week. You will probably have to do one 50% water change within 30 min after puttin in the FWE. If I had to do it again I would put my corals & fish in a separate tub & treat them separately from the main tank. Most of the die off will be in your DT. You will be amazed how many will come out withinna minute, it'll look like a red snowstorm. When they started dying I used a net to scoop out as many as I could. Did the water change about 30 min later. You will also need to run as much carbon as you can through a canister filter or a reactor & change the carbon after one day, also your skimmer will start pulling out large amounts of bright orange toxins.
That's a great link, got most of my info from it.
