!. You should never stir up a DSB. It defeats the purpose of having one. So currently it is doing nothing beneficial and it won't until it has had time to get the beneficial bacteria going.'t have enough patience for a cycle

      2. I would stay away from chemicals that are sold as a way to "speed up" the cycle. It's not the way to do it. Patience is key to successful reefkeeping and if you don't have enough patience for a cycle, you will run into much bigger issues later on.

As others have said, just let it work on its own time table.

yeah, the only reason i stirred it up was because my tank crashed, nothing in it was living and i was redoing it. fully aware of the effects itd have.

im actually not using a supplement designed to speed the cycle, none of those "instant cycle" products. ive been using nite-out for years, a couple in fresh and the last year w/ salt. it says itll speed up cycling but its not my main focus, nor the products. i've use it for water swaps in my established systems so im stying the course w/ that process. its a great product that really helps w/ stabilizing parameters but not having a proper cycle obviously doesnt help things.

thanks for all the help guys, still wondering what everyones using as far as additives/ supplements not for cycling necessarily but anything from essential elements to foods like phytoplex.
