      tank is reef right?
try hypo salinity reduce salinity to 1.018, do not remove fish out of your tank it will stress them more, try feeding them frozen food add garlic oil extract to enhance them to eat more, using copper or formaldehyde base product in the tank will kill invertebrate, adding a UV sterilizer will control parasite in the long term, just my 2 cents

Those are good points...once you stabalize your tank (ICK) you need to go into maint mode:

      1) Garlic Soaked food
      2) Cleaner Shrimp
      3) UV Sterilzer
      4) Cleaner wrasse

All good reminders...guess we all naturally put those in our tanks and foget why...

If you have corals, do not do hyposalinity..you'll kill them. I feed mine with fresh minced garlic pretty much everyday. I would not move it to QT, you will just stress it more. I would just leave it alone and keep you hands off the water. As long as the tangs is eating regulary, it will be fine. Tangs are prone to ICH and somehow they can manage to heal themselves.

OKay so it's a miracle..... i came home today after buying some products at VP and the tang looks great. NO spots on the fins and not spots on the body. I ended up buying garlic guard and new line spectrum pellet food. I'm still going to soak the food in garlic and feed twice a day. I just got done feeding and the tang ate very well. I didn't buy any cleaner fish or shrimp till i know that my tank is stable.

I'm just curious garlic just help make the fish want to eat or does it actually help guard against ich? I have a kole tang that isn't really eating much of what I throw in the tank for food and just don't want him to develop ich. She does plenty of picking at the rocks but doesn't eat nori on a clip and barely eats the frozen food I put in.

What it say on the box is "it will increase the appetite of finicky eater and it has been know to have healing properties such as ectoparasite cryptocaryon as well as anti-bacterial and anti-fungal"

Cool thanks for clearing that up for me. Will fresh garlic do just as well mixed in with the frozen I feed?

Cleaner shrimp won't be affected. Inverts can't get ich. Attacks fish only. Just remember that when u see ich on the outside of the fish, that is the last stage of ich. After it 'bursts', coming off the fish, it divides into hundreds and drops to your substrate and rock. Hatches. Then swims to find a new host. Keep using the garlic and keep their appetite up! Consider an herbal remedy in addition to hopefully kill the ich

      Ich

I've been feeding pretty regularly with garlic and my kole tang has been doing very well. Still swimming and eating very healthy. This morning when I flipped on my lights I saw her and she was COVERED in white spots. I know people say it will come back pretty hard but is it suppose to happen this quickly and over night?? Last night there were no noticeable spots on her and this morning it's crazy! She eats really well except she won't eat nori. Any advice?

Long as the fish is eating keep feeding with garlic soaked foods, small portions, scattered througout the day. With a 70 Gal I strongly recommend that treatment I mentioned in one of my earlier posts. It is a bit pricey, but so is a Purple Tang and IT WORKED for me. It is a reef safe treatment also. Just my dos centavos

Cool thanks for the tip Yolo. I'll check that stuff out. It's worth a shot.
