      Anyone want to go sailing?

      The few people I know in San Diego either have their own boat or don't want to sail. I belong to a sailing club and want to go out on the boats but can't afford to do it as much as I want. I am hoping to find some people who want to go out sailing and help share the costs. It should be $20-40 for 4 hours depending on how many people go. You don't need to know how to sail, you can learn out on the water.

      Send me a PM if interested.

      If he has his own boat even better, I'll provide the beer.

      I am going sailing this Sunday if anyone wants to go. Right now I got 3 people and will be renting a 22 foot boat. One more we can spend the day offshore in a 25 footer, a few more we can spend the day on a beautiful 34 foot boat. I will trying to keep the boat filled to keep the price low but the fun high.

      I crew on a 42' bennataeu <spelling> and have participated in about 40-50 regattas every year for the past 8 years....if you want to come along sometime, PM me your email address. We are out of SD Bay, Cortez Racing Association (CRA)...in fact, two series of races this weekend....just canceled SD to Ensenad due to lack of crew. Extra points if you work Bow (and are good at it)...LOL

      thx

      BTW...big difference in Sailing and Racing. There is a stong focus, beginning and end, and a lot of shouting...along with food and drink...LOL We have won and lost races due to seconds in errors. Very action packed. Can't wait to get my GoPro out there and film the next race...

      I don't go sailing ever, only racing....

      When its time to go sailing I'm jumping on my buddy's boat to Hawaii, Tahitii, and the Cook Islands..cruising...

      I have raced about 20 different boats during my career, mostly on the Gulf Coast, including a race across the Gulf of Mexico, then cruise back. I love racing, also enjoy sailing with a beer in one hand, which most race boat owners frown upon. As much as you learn racing, I have a few things to learn before I leave for Tahiti myself. If the Benetau is a sprit boat I could foredeck but no none wants 220 lbs on the bow, even of a 42 footer. You should have called me earlier I would have been all over SD to Ensenada.

      220lbs = mainsail trimmer
      light winds on a 42 = beer

      pm me your contact info and I will see about getting you on the email list if you are interested.

      Thx

      Very interesting, my wife would love to go sailing. I would too, but someone has to look after the kids.
