Corals getting eaten?brittle worms and aptesia

Ok so i recently discovered brittle worms in my tank i think i got them from a rock i bought from someone ive gotten them in the past when i had a 20 gallon so i emptied my tank threw away all my sand and soaked all my live rock which was only two big pieces in hot water then picked them all off. Now I see them in my 55 gal but now i have quite a bit of sand and rock so how do i get rid of them, I actually saw my tang eat one of them the other day which was weird. The rock i bought also popped out some aptesia now its spreading i read that certain shrimp will eat it, is that a fact?[IMG][/IMG]

There's a few fish that'll eat aptasia..Can't think of it off the top of my head otherwise there's a few ways to get rid of them if you google it..As far as the bristle worms?..You really shouldn't have a problem if at all with them. I'd personally liked to have more in my tank cause my YWM goby loves'em more than pellets!

Oh and nice tank by the way!!!

Arrow crabs will eat bristle worms, But they are not really bad. Almost like a clean up crew, They can get invasive then that's a problem and do not touch them!! They can irritate your skin pretty bad, hope this helps.....

So you are saying i don't need to get rid of them. I heard they were harmful to livestock etc crabs snails and corals even some fish. Thanks it actually looks better now lot more purple on my rocks and i moved stuff around to make it sit better just that i recently lost that entire frogspawn except for one head

Mrgunz. Yeah bristle are good for your tank just like what V said. Aptasia will be present on live rock..after my tank cycled I had quite a few all over rocks my glass the sand bed. I don't know what happened to my population now..but there's not really much left and I don't know why and I'm also ok with it..lol..There was a member here on the boards that wanted aptasia infested LR.
