      Deleted Posts / threads

I've noticed a lot of my posts have been deleted. For the most part, I can see the aspect of housekeeping, although I don't necessarily agree.

But what I don't understand is why my recent thread regarding Custom Aquatic's lack of updated hours was deleted. As a localized forum of enthusiasts, I feel that the community should know of such experiences. Are they being protected because they are a paid vendor?

I'm a paid vendor on an automotive forum. I've been put on blast once or twice. It's a great way for me to become aware of possible shortcomings and rectify the situation. In the end it earns me more business.

Am I pissed that Custom Aquatic wasted my time via their lack of properly posting their hours?
      Yup.

      Will I give them a 2nd chance?
      Nope.

But I don't think that my heartache should be swept under the rug, possibly exposing another member to a similar experience. This is a public forum for people to read and learn. Experiences, both good and bad, should be made known.

I'm not saying I walked into a shop and the owner punched me in the throat. But I sure as hell hope that if that happened, it wouldn't be hidden for other members to fall victim to.

I'm really not a fan of censorship and over-moderation, as that's what drives a forum. Trimming and housekeeping move it toward the likes of media manipulation.

That's crap. I see these lame vendor-money-trumps-rules threads all the time, on RC, on R2R, and now here. I know all the owners and mods of this site... believe me, no one is interested in hiding a failure of a vendor. If there is a valid point to the OP's thread, then I'm sure it will be around for eveyone to see.

I didn't see the OP's original post, so I can't comment on it beyond what I did. I completely agree, issues like open hours are great for public viewing.

As for your other comments, if this site has taken the stance of putting priority of brick and mortar shops over others, that is their prerogative. I understand the logic there. Reefers are so ridiculous nowadays... they want the cheapest prices on everything, and yet still want the convenience of walking into a store that has everything on display for them. It doesn't work that way anymore....

What merger? You mean the purchase of SDR from Blake?

I don't see how that has to do with anything. New ownership came before any merger. New ownership decides the rules.

All I'm saying is I have a gripe with showing up to a closed shop during their publicly posted hours.

The thread has been deleted/hidden. There was no bashing, only facts.

I load my 2 1/2 year old twin boys and 18 mo old girl into my wife's 12mpg navigator, drive there, unload the kids, and walk up to a sign with their "summer hours"
The kids are upset, 1 is crying, 1 won't move, and now were piling back into the car.

Luckily a quick call to another *awesome* LFS resulted in him supplying me with what I needed, for free, from his personal parts bin.

At the end of the day I wanted to vent about FACTS. It could help someone down the road but as long as it remains HIDDEN then my experience is basically swept under the rug and a non-issue in the eyes of moderators and admins.

Again, I'm waiting to see what the OP was, as I can't comment on it otherwise. The tangent of LA runs was what I was commenting on.

The reason I even said anything in this thread is because I have negative comments about vendors that were never deleted...

Totally valid. My comments here have nothing to do with the validity of your issue...

Well, I don't have any problem with this thread. I'm not sure why you think it's going to be deleted.

I'm not sure why my last one was. This one pulls more sensitive strings
