      Large Black Spined Urchin

Warning: Very stingy! Sucker has gotten me 4 times in 3 days, and they're venemous so it hurts! He's outgrown the tank, which is obvious because he seems to be everywhere I am when my hand is in there. (yes, Alissa is sulking).

Gorgeous (if evil) and a great algae eater. Including spines, I'd say he's about 5 inches.

      $10 takes him.

Yeeeeouch! Time to use a net... And, looks like I'll be sure to NOT get stung next time moving it (as I won't use my fingers).

What do they actually do? I guess they eat algae right? How big is your tank that it outgrew?

I just saw thousands of those while diving in Malaysia. Very cool. I didn't thinkthey were venomous though. I didn't think they needed to be with as easy as there spines break off.

      GL with sale.

EDIT: According to Liveaquaria (The forefront in urchin anatomy) they are venomous and is similar to a bee sting
