      AI SOL Blue LED Modules

      http://www.aquaillumination.com/sol/

I recently purchased these lights from Scott (SDActuary).
I'm very pleased so far. My only issue is/was the controller, its not real easy to understand at first but once you get the hang of it your good.
I really like the controlability of all three colors, of which i wasnt able to get on some other LED's on the market. I did want to add these to my RKL but in order for it to work with the module that Digital Aquaitcs sell wires need to be slices, hence voiding warranties on light.

Very cool lights. I'm sure you've heard many times to slowly acclimate your corals to these lights. Believe it. Really take your time. I had the sol blues for a bit, and I initially burned some corals that were directly under the leds. Good thing about them is the controllability. I ended up turning the settings way down.

That is exactly why i went with a unit that is so dimable/controlable.I have used other LED fixtures that werent controlable, and and have bleached out corals.....
That video is cool. Thank god our corals arent that close to the lights.

Im using the three AI SOL Blue LED Modules on my new 187. Im really liking them. It just took me a few days, and some conversation with AI support to figure the controller out.

      Hey JT,

They are nice lights indeed. I have 2 myself and couldn't be happier. Pretty straight forward and easy to use. Basically set it and forget it. Just slowly increase the intensity by 5% increments every week to acclimate the corals.

Have you seen the new teaser video of the new AI lights (aka vega)? Pretty cool.

I believe that video is misleading, reciept paper is thermal so that ink ribbons ade not needed, any heat source will turn it black, even scratching it quickly with your fingernail will have the same effect. Regardless, those are great lights.

Here's the video from reef builders. You can see that it is not the actual light since the lens are not in a fixture. This is just a demo. Also, I'm sure we won't be able to do this special light effects with the actual light when it does go on sale.

No so sure i like all the other colors...Seems likes more about catching the consumers eye than best for our corals..
