      Well I would be controlling it with my Reefkeeper and it supplies a 0v - 10v DC control voltage. It would connect to the + and - inputs on the driver for the LEDs. The version you were talking about with a controller built in could be modified after the fact, but then it would be a waste of money for the controller part. If the control voltage wires from the driver were accessible they could put them on any type of connector and I could just make a jumper wire between the RK controller and the light.

      I'm not sure where I mentioned it had a "controller built-in".... so, let's take this to email, as ... it might get a little winded. I'd rather we not muddy the waters here in this thread.

      Very eager to test these out over my display.
      This would imply that a dimmer control would be included. Even if it is from a different source the pendant would have to come with some type of method for connecting the Dimming Controller.

      Didn't mean to "muddy up" the thread. Sorry

      Sorry... misuse of the word "controller". The first samples, were order with a dimming capability. They came with rotary dimming knobs on the side of the driver. No "controller" was used as a dimmer or to control dimming functions.

      Then please... let's use PM or email (we can clear up the confusion before posting, without confusing the readers).

      Let me add some information. This review of an Orphek, is very similar to what I'm trying to ascertain as an end result; http://www.wetwebmedia.com/OrphekDIFXPRev.htm

      ... however, I'm not using a 6 color multi-chip like Orphek is doing. Nor, am I going to need multiple pendants (like Ecoxotic) to get white and blue coloration in the same space. I myself, have proven a 3 color LED system will grow most if not all corals, and offer great coloration.

      The benefits of this design, will be; (let me again review)
      - "the given" = TONS of shimmer
      - dimmable
      - remote control included (for dimming)
      - included electronic timer
      - 3 color multi-chip
      - available in 80watt or 160watt

      I'm now seeing if they'll be able to have a more refined look to the finished product. The "look", will offer a nicer 'reflector' for the LED output, and a cleaner design than what the pendants come with from the factory. If it adds too much to the cost, I'll simply use it as an option for anyone interested.

      ... I'll post more, when I know more.

      I've got the manufacturer to custom make me ... a reflector, lens cover type housing.

      I'm not going to post sneak-peak pictures just yet... I'll do so when it's completely assembled, and ready for shipping (to me).

      I was having some fun last night with my Video Editing program... See a demo light in action (from the manufacturer);

      VIDEO LINK: https://vimeo.com/couchmode/user4448...:date/47325553
      (this above video is of a true RGB sampling... NOT of my custom colored RGB chip that we'll be using in final production)

      I think I should call it "THE GATTLIN' GUN"

      ... thing is a monster. The 160W version is over 14" long.

      Well well.... had some manufacturing hiccups... (go figure, my life story!)

      We are now making 120W and 60W pendants.
      ... the 80W chip was giving the manufacturer hassle when they tried to make my color ratio. They couldn't warranty it, so we decided to use 60W chips instead.

      I'll now have a dual chip version, the 120W... and a single chip version, the 60W.

      The good news is, the 120W won't be a big bohemuth of a light. Roughly 8.5" in length (same size as my 100W pictures previously in the thread). And the 60W, will be much smaller and only about 5" in length. Much more practical for all our tank's needs and installations.

      ... once I have another video and pictures of a completed light, I'll post up. Should be by end of week, or first part of next.

      One of my newest 3 custom colored RGB mult-chip "Test" Pendants has been video'd by the manufacturer, to allow me to approve the custom color in the multi-chip.

      I'd have hoped to see more interest from fellow SDReefers on this, but I can understand the skepticism and wanting to see it "in action" first. I'll be ordering my very own set of 7 pendants. 4 of them will be 120W to use over my 240Gal Reef Display. I'll have one sample in each configuration to test PAR or LUX, and to see how they work and look for future buys.

      So I'll have on hand for demo purposes;
      • (1) 120W
      • (1) 60W
      • (1) 160W
      ... I'll also be able to allow fellow reefers to take and sample them over their own tank.

      Here's that video
      (ignore the "flashing", it's due to the camera problem of too less frames per second during videoing. The pendant's LED is not actually flashing)
      Video Link ---> http://vimeo.com/couchmode/user44481...:date/47872568

      GOT THEM IN TODAY!!! ...and, being I'm pretty impatient... got'em mounted and powered up!

      (click on any picture for a larger view)

      On my doorstep;

      Unboxed. Left to right; 160W/120W/60W

      Spare parts, timers, extra 60W 3 color chip, spare driver, remotes, and cords;

      (4) 120W pendants installed, and pictures only showing one side of the 8' long 240gal;

      The output color, can be adjusted by the remote... and provides an amazing control over the LED multi-chip. Pictures make them look somewhat purple or pink, when it's all the camera ... and my lack of taking a good picture. ... it's awesome to be able to see the differences in the 3 colors on the chip.

      WOW... what perfect shimmer, and awesome controllability with the remote control.
      Just awesome, and worth the research and design... and wait to get them perfected.

      A couple of better shots over my tank.... still takin' with the point-n-shoot camera (not my DSLR)

      I'll get some 1080P video up sooner or later, that shows the shimmer... and real output of these bad mamma jammmas.
