Hey Guys,
Check out this touching video made by my buddy Ryan. Anyone have a size 9.5 steel toed boots they can donate to a fellow San Diegan in need?

How can you help?

Here is how Ryan is hoping to help Al:
Rather than fundraising and just giving Al money, the concept is to give away things that you no longer need (such as a pair of steel toed boots) or to ask around and spread the word about Al in order to try and help find a pair. I have been forwarding all of the PMs that I have received from SDR to Ryan and we are currently discussing creating a list of items that Al could use to get back in the workforce. Communication is slow since Al goes to the library to use a computer/internet. It is unclear at this point if he has a phone. Once Ryan hears back from Al, he is going to find out what other items could help him with his work.


****UPDATE 4/20/12: Thanks to the generosity of SDR and other facebook people, Al now has multiple pairs of shoes, a shirt and a Bus pass!

Hey Anthony,

Thanks so much for reaching out! Regarding donations, I am looking to do something here that can be replicated. What happens the next time someone needs a pair of shoes? I think collectively, without money we can solve almost anyones problems. To me that is more powerful than fundraising.

So rather than giving money, please share this post on peoples walls who you think may have a pair, with instructions to pass it on.

Thanks for all the PMs guys! Talked to Ryan last night and here is a quick update:

Ryan said he is waiting to hear back from Al but has been taking longer than expected because Al has to go to the library to use a computer/internet to get email. Will post here as soon as I hear anything.

Hang tight Chris! You might have a pair of Jeans or something else in his size! Just waiting to hear back on the list of items needed so that I can post it. The other thing also is that you can ask around your friends and post the video to see if they have a pair of boots!
