      Ahh, so you've just been contact by the ex prince of Nigeria! Wow, that tank must look fantastic!

      In reality, this is a very common scam. When you receive the check, you will discover it was in to large of an amount. He will want the remaining money back.... and will request it via Western Union. Being a typical idiot, you will then proceed to send this money out to him. After about 2 weeks, your bank will suddenly revoke all the money in your account and inform you that the Secret Service has been notified about your fraudulent check..... than, you will need to explain what happened and pay back EVERY penny that was lost.... or, risk going to jail (or less severely, your credit takes a hit "7yrs", or you end up on check systems for 5 years.). Very fun stuff indeed.

      To answer your question, NEVER take on one of these guys. Unless of course you want to screw with him. Ask him this:

      "I am glad to hear that this is not a scam. Indeed I would like to receive the money. However, first I must ask that your provide proof of your existence. Please, pose in a picture next to your wife and house pet. Make sure to label which one is your wife, and which one is your pet. I do not want to get confused.

      After you do this, I will need to know the routing instructions in Lagos (that is the horrible ghetto you are from right?).

      I can not wait to conduct business with you. I have dreamed my entire life to sell my Aquarium to a pot bellied African Savage."

      ...... and wait for a response

      I hate scammers, and love to reply to these emails (I'll toy with them for several emails)
      And I only reply with a bogus email account I keep around JUST for them!

      They usually come, when you get an email from your ad... and it'll say something simple and short, like;
      "still available?."
      Notice the error in punctuation? A first sign of bad grammar, and a scammer.
      Once you reply to the scammer, and say; "yes... I still have it"
      ... you'll then get the reply you noticed.

      I avoid ANY reply that doesn't contain a phone number. In fact, I post in my ad; "no phone number, no reply". Simple as that. Only once was I skeptical when I got a number that was odd to me, but after confirming... it was a number out of Tijuana. Most scammers, WILL NOT reply with a phone number.

      There is a whole website dedicated to funny pictures of what people make the sammers do to prove they are real. I'll try and find it but they are classic.

      goats, viles of blood, body of abraham lincoln. some of these scammers are pretty dumb, so it takes them 6-7 email messages to realize that im f*ing with them, but boy, do they sound excited.
      I like your approach and your email name ("Nigerian", a perfect name for where the scams are usually generated).
