I used the water dispenser outside of a Vons nearby until I found a water store, which I used until I got my own RODI.

When you are ready to purchase one, MelevsReef and CustomAquatic both have good prices!

I, personally, have never found true RO/DI water at any place other than LFS (local fish stores). I have tested at least a dozen of those water purification dispensers around town, and they always have a decent amount of TDS, some a lot of TDS. Assuming that you are using the water to either 1) mix with salt for water changes, or 2) using it for top off, the water should have zero TDS. To do otherwise can (and usually will, in time) cause algae issues.

The places that I have not tested (but meant to before I got my own RO/DI system) are those water stores...I went to one about 15 years ago, and I don't remember seeing RO/DI water, but know they did have RO water. While ALOT better than tap water, RO only gets you part of the way there - you need the DI to pull out the residual TDS that is still present after RO filtering.

Probably more info than you wanted, but thought I would be complete.

I've been going to the Palm Water Store on Palm Avenue right off the 805 exit. I've been going to them for years as well as a few other OG South Bay Reefers I know. They charge 25 cents a gallon, and if you set up an account with them you only pay 20 cents. They used to have 20 cents on Wednesdays but not sure if they still do that. They have two outside machines and several machines inside. You can even see their system behind the glass.
