There's currently another thread going in regards to scripps water. I think we should all stick to one thread instead of having multiple threads on the same topic. Just saying.

Maybe the mod can combine them or do something with them.

I'm envious of y'all and my GF honestly. I wish I lived that close to a saltwater tap like that. My main tank is in Orange County and I would definitely do more water changes given the accessibility. My GF lives a solid 5 min drive from there 'cause she's at UCSD, which is a stone's throw compared to where I am most of the week.

Can anyone point me to what link will tell me how much we're allowed to get from there?

... does anyone think it's worth it in 'gas' to pick up 30-50 gallons and transport it back to orange county? 'Cause I live in SD 2-3 days a week on most weeks.

There is no limit... for hobbists... Use the Gas to visit your GF and don't think of it as a cost for SW

hahaha. Yeah, I stay with her Tuesday to Thursday morning. I'm just wondering if it's beneficial to strap a 30-50 gallon drum onto my truck bed and grab some scrip's water on the way back to OC.

Cost of NSW in OC = $0.60/gallon
Weight of 30-50 gallon of NSW = ~240-400 lbs
Distance from La Jolla to Anaheim = ~90 miles

worth the hassle?.. or better off saving the cost in lowered Gas mileage by just mixing instant ocean at home..

That's like having 2 adult passengers riding along for the northbound part of the trip, which shouldn't have any significant affect on your truck's gas mileage. 50g at $0.60 = $30. Picking up Scripps water while right there seems like a no-brainer.
