Big thanks to everyone who participated for being cool, easy to deal with, and making this work. Was the smoothest group buy ever. I can't believe the peppermints were only a buck sixty two!

Extra thanks to Bodie for buying one extra peppermint shrimp. I accidentally shorted Rigo one shrimp because his bag was marked with a number six (indicating quantity) but only had five. Then when I looked in Bodie's bag, which was marked with a 5, I saw six shrimp. Bodie didn't mind taking the extra, saving me from having to open it up and fish it out. Rigo, I sent you $1.62 via PayPal. Let me know if you didn't get it.

All my stuff looks great and acclimated very nicely. How do you like what you got? How did the acclimation go?

My Experience and Learning curve here was that I got all focused on the price and ordered 10 and overlooked the impact of dumping 10 shrimp into my system. By the time I got home, acclimated and dumped them in I noticed one looking sideways right away. Check at night noted only 3 (that with 2 already pre-existing). Don't know what entirely happend nor have I taken an inventory lately. But right after I placed them had to go out of town. They dead shrimp spiked my nitrates and triggered an emergency water change.

Saved $70 on Shrimp
Paid $125 for Emergency Tank Service
Learning Experience: Priceless

Very sorry to hear about the loss.

My thirteen shrimp acclimated really well and took care of my aiptasia right away. My emerald crabs and snails did great too.

The post is absolutely not to raise an issue with the quality of the product. All of the shrimp were alive on delivery and pick up. The point is my personal experience triggered by a great price, general husbandry, acclimation, and pre-planning.

I personally might not have acclimated them as much as I should as I had to get back to work and I should have thought about dumping 10 in at one time.

BTW, my recently added Klien Butterfly has all but sterilized the tank of aptasia.

Mine are doing great... big and fat now. I think couple of them are MIA.. either get killed by my filter sock or hermit crabs... dunno. The first few days, most of them got down to my sump into the filter socks, but I saved them right away. I think I still have about 8 left... I have no problem with parameter spiked! I guess I got lucky! I don't have any aiptasia in my tank.
