Making some changes from the setup you delivered. Thanks for building the solid frame for the cabinet.
Btw I did find the foam at Home Depot as you recommended. My cabinet builder understands the top surface has to be perfectly flat, but it does not hurt to lay down a foam pad under the tank.

What foam are you going to use? I'm going to be setting up a new 135gal and I'd be interested in what you're going to use.
Got this board for about $7 at Home Depot. It 96"x48". I am using 1/2" board.

As far as cutting the board, I would recommend getting a cheap $2 utility knife from the paint department, as they are super thin and flimsy (what we need here). I heated the blade with a candle, its cuts thru foam like butter without making any mess.....
except you might forget to blow out the candle and make a big wax mess on the floor (yeah I did that )

PK-SD,
I feel like you are a perfectionist like Steve Jobs.
From the way your house look (very clean and organized), to the careful planning of your tank, stand, and equipments, I know that you want to make this new reef set up as best as possible.
The knowledge that you have learned from your small tank in the past and the new technology of reefing that exists now are allowing to create a very beautiful set up.
I am following this thread for your great progress.
Good to hear that you are coming back.
My stand's frame was built by Larry (waves in glass) as I did not like the style tank manufacturers build. Skin is being made by our carpenter, he has done lot of work for us around the house. This way he can build to my wife's taste.
