Thanks guys. Yes it was bit tricky with the slope. Luckily I found studs for both sides of the wire. Extending the wire is very easy with this hanging kit, you just have to squeeze and pull, so adjusting the fixture height takes just seconds.

I will run one cable from the back outlets to the cabinet and then lights(and everything else) will plug in there.

PK, Here a photo of my FO with a hanging lights like yours. We brought the electrical cord back up also. You can see it in the back right. The cord was black, but we made it white so that it did not stand out as much. Shells

Looks gorgeous. I like like the granite top

Good idea about painting the cord. Most people would not even notice it was there.

Shelly, I noticed you have a large window in the back and another small one on the side. Do you get lot of light in the room? any algae issues ?

Where my tank is, I also get lots of light. If algae growth is not issue I would also like to add small solar tube in the room, to add more ambient light in the area. I can only imagine its good for the corals to get broader spectrum of light.

The windows are about 30 feet away from this tank, and the tank is higher than the lower floor so the sunlight does not hit it.

However, my Reef tank does get hit with direct sun from the windows (it is on the lower portion of the floor). The side of the tank that is right next to a window, (2 feet away) tends to get a lot of algae, but stays on the glass and easy to get rid of. Another section of the reef get hits with morning sunlight from a windown about 20 feet away, but does not seem to impact it.

For you, if I remember the layout of your house, this is going to be on the South East side of your house, where a lot of sun is going to hit those windows. It could be an issue for you but I think over time you will be able to keep the algae at bay. For me it is just more glass cleaning on that panel nearest the window, but nothing big.

Just FYI - the side of the tank where direct sunlight hits it. Corals grow like CRAZY!

No paint on the cord - actually white duct tape

As long as the algae is on the glass alone, I am fine with it. As a matter of fact that is green powder like algae growth, basically you give your tank free phytoplankton everytime you clean your glass. Like the fact that corals grow well where the natural light is falling.

I guess duct tape is lot easier than painting
