Yes LED. LEDs are what brought be back to the hobby

There is a power outlet right behind the tank(its behind the left post). I will run one cable from there to the cabinet and then distribute it out from there.

How the heck were you able to allow such big tank in place of the dining table set??? Are you divorced now?

Will be following this thread, that's for sure...
Well my wife got a nice kitchen upgrade and as part of the deal I FINALLY got a new tank

It's a peninsula tank and this was the only place in the house I could put it. There is about 2 feet of walk-around space on all four sides.

      Love those dimensions.

Who really needs a kitchen table anyways!
Yeah, who has the time to sit down and eat when you have to take care of reef . My wife wants to put a tall bistro table next to it, we'll see how that goes.

Thanks Nick. Yes I remember you, also you were looking at Maxspect Mazarra lights, right? I decided to go with.....Vertex illumina.

Wow very nice. Did you buy it from a Canadian distributor? I don't think there is one in the States last time I checked.

Premium Aquatics is starting to carry them. But they only carry SR260 fixtures not the SR200. I do not need SR260, but by the time you pay shipping and import tariffs, for little bit more money its better to buy SR260 fixture.

Nice light, do they produce that much heat for such large heat sinks?

From what I have read, they don't get that hot. I played with it for about half hour, it did not get hot at all. Maybe the heatsink is doing it's job

      PK-SD,

How are you doing? Are you still in the same house or have you moved to a new house. Do you still remember me?

Anyway, I also started to have the addiction again. In fact, I am planning to get another tank for my office as a back up tank and as a frag tank. After the recent blackout incident, I am going to do everything with back ups.

The addiction is frightening. Within 1 month of being bitten by the addiction bug, I spent almost $2,000 just on live stocks alone. I still have to buy the back up tank, its equiptments, and the LED lighting system for my current and the new tank. I am still deciding on the Vertex or the Ecotech Marine Radion.

Anyway, the new tank is really nice. I can't wait to see what a veteran reefer can do with a new tank.

Yes I do remember you, and yep same house too

UPS do make lot of sense. That's what saved my 20g. At the least my PHs in the new tank will be on UPS. Well you can recover some of the livestock cost by selling me some of the frags

For LEDs I looked at just about every manufacturers. I decided on Vertex for few reason (1) Nicer looking than other fixtures (easier to get wife approval) (2) only one wire leaving fixture; with other fixtures, it was as many as 8 wires (3) mature fixture, its been around for some time

I see, that's the kind of setup I need next. Walk around awesomeness!
