      sugar glider

I'm looking for a Sugar Glider, the only ones I can seem to find in california are either in the bay area or somewhere in LA, but before I make the journey north I would like to know if anyone on here has experience with them/owns some/sells some/knows someone who will sell some. I am looking to get more thank one, thanks!

San Diego wont allow you to keep them as a pet, ive tried and done lots of research into it, and they are 100% illegal because of our climate

100% illegal in the state of CA, unfortutely.

But, super-cool pets! They usually bond extremely closely with one person, and that person only. They love to climb.

Ask Matt "ironcross" - he has owned them before I think.

Couple of ways you can get them. One is drive to Vegas; there are several pet stores there that sell exotic species (that are legal there but not here.) You have to drive back through a checkpoint when it is open but usually they are looking for people/drugs. (bearing in mind it is technically illegal) usually it is not a problem if you keep your stuff hidden away. There is a cool place on tropicana where we got a hedgehog a few years ago.

The second way I only know about.second hand. I am told there is a place in florida to buy gliders online. They are not able to ship to ca but thy can ship to the post office in yuma where you can sign for them and then drive them back...

I'm aware they are illegal in CA, yet people still have them for sale on here http://www.hoobly.com/search?q=sugar...&area_id=11993 which is why I was wondering if anyone locally had them before I drive up to LA or somewhere for one. I have done my research on these special creatures don't worry

My son had one when he lived back east, and they are extremely hard to care for for the first few months, and if you do get one here, and it gets sick, you will have to take it to the vet (or let it die...) which will mean you will no longer have it and you will receive a pretty hefty fine, the vets are required to report it and take it from you unfortunately... but to answer your question, you will probably have to just go up north if you really want one, and i hope your house has central air
      good luck

Yup any way to get them is up north or in another state. They do better in pairs. Usually people do not have enough time to keep only one since they are so dependent on someone else (or another glider).
