      Insump skimmer

      My skimmer is causing a ton of bubbles in my tank what would cause this. I dont know the name of the skimmer but it has a pump hooked to it a vent hose and a tube that slides to adjust the skimming with a foam on the tube it does not matter where yoi adjust the tub any ideas lmk thanks

      You should adjust the tube based on the results of the skimmate. If you raise it the skimmate will get lense dense and more watered down. If you adjust it too high, you may overflow the cup with dirty water.

      Where do you have the skimmer located? Is it in the sump or the tank. Is the skimmer new?

      Its in the sump and its not new it just started right out of the blue it always work fine be for I took it out last night and cleaned it real well and wash the brushes in.the pump bubbles slowed down alot but still have some I cant post pic they are always to large and.that is with my cell I have it set for the smallest setting to. Im stump

      can you look and see if the bubbles are coming from the pump itself? Might be a bad seal on the impeller housing after you cleaned it. If it is a bad seal, you can wrap teflon around the pump where the gasket is and it might help.

      I also read when I was researching my prob that the skimmer (at least my model) often does create microbubbles for a couple days after cleaning, so maybe it will go away if it's not a mechanical/air problem.

      good luck, hope your fish aren't PO'd.
