      Stand wiring?

I'm looking for some resources on wiring up my new stand.

I'd like to run 2 extension cords inside the stand, and split up power to a few outlets that I can control with a simple switch.

Anybody know what I should look for when I go to the hardware store? I've only done a little bit of electrical work, and usually under the supervision of a contractor.

I have always used American DJ PC-100A 8-Switch ON/OFF Power Centers

You can find them at your local Guitar Center. $29

I like it, thanks for a much simpler solution than what I was imagining.
