      starting up a classroom tank

Hey everyone, shelley here, I'm starting up a classroom tank in my science class to try to get more people interested in reefs. We are going to try to ask the science department for some funding (probably a waste of time) but if anyone has anything they would be willing to put forward for the sake of education, it would be greatly appreciated.

You can contact me via email at sdarthur09@gmail.com

      Again anything is appreciated.
We would like to get it up and running as soon as possible!
      Thank you!

Thanks! I was actually thinking of that size precisely! What are the dimensions?

Hey Shelley, sounds like a good idea, but I've heard of bad things with classroom tanks. Most schools cut the power during breaks, and I've heard of people coming back to a completely dead tank. Whatever you chose, be sure you can move it easily just in case they do cut the power.

Ya my house is 2 and a half blocks from said classroom so transportation is no issue. However I suppose it would be easier to go smaller like perhaps a 10 to 12 gallon???

That sounds great, I am doing the same thing but we already have a tank set up, if anyone has any cleanup crew for grabs that would be great.

A 29g wouldn't be too bad to transfer. Especially if your place is close. Hope it works out for you.
Some day I'll find one tank and stick with it.

      Currently in-between tanks

I've got a 20" pc fixture that won't fit the 29, but I have a glass lid for the 29 so you could place it on top, and it has legs.

I got some rock for the tank, I have it cycling at my house until the time is right, I had the principal give me a list of the pre-determined blackout dates so I am fully prepared for anything in that respect.
