I think that most people just want to know for sure either way.
What is scripps water?
How profound!!its an expensive hobby. If scripps water makes or breaks it, maybe you shouldnt be in the hobby at all.
HA Nick. You got my joke.
Im gonna buy a turtle.
I actually think the quality off the water is better. These last few months my fish seem lethargic and less happy. Nature knows best.
Eh, don't lurk. Some folks get testy- it IS an online forum after all, where anonymity and a computer screen/keyboard makes people say things that polite society would prevent us from saying in person.
I think the Scripps issue has just gotten overtly annoying from every which side- Those who use it are frustrated at not having the resource anymore, those who don't get annoyed by the folks who get upset at Scripps for not GIVING away for free this water.
So-both sides are venting and getting annoyed, which again, is what internet forums are all too often for instead of actually productively solving an issue (such as group buy on salt (which someone seems to be working on), "how I mix my salt/make ro/di with the least amount of fuss and mess" articles, and so on)
I did freshwater tanks and bred reptiles for years (15 or so) and within a few months of getting into saltwater, this based on the understanding there is a free saltwater source, they turned it off. The thing that sucks is we don't have any answers if this will come back on or not and when. I would like answers as we do have the right to question what is going on. I don't agree with being demanding or rude about it, but it is a ligit question.
Also, if they gave some information on what to expect, we would not be listening to every Jack working in the area with a hunch. So, if you where "Scripps" I hope you would give answers before judging based on a few forum users.
yah san diego is in a water crisis since scripps has been shut off ive noticed the lake hodges water level rapidly dropping from all the reefers mixing there water and alot of those ro filters waste a huge % of water . but seriously ive seen surfers rinsing off there feet with the water for years its nothing new . its probably a power play , like a cop giving a ticket to a guy on a bicycle for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign which happen to me last week lol
