Nikon D5000 or Cannon Rebel T1i

I am looking at getting a new camera. Something that will take really nice macro shots of corals. I have been to a few different shops and these are the 2 cameras the people in the stores always take me to that is in my price range.

Does anyone use these cameras and if so what do you think?

Also was wondering if I would need any lense for taking the macro shots. The dude with the Nikon said they have a filter lense for 20-30 that will take wonderful macro shots. Me knowing very little about cameras would like some opinions from people who use these cameras.

      Thanks!

if you are looking at those 2 cameras you might also consider the pentax kx which is in the same class. all three cameras will do great!

as for macro work....I think you are talking about a close up lens/filter that screws onto the filter threads. I was almost talked into buying one when I first started but Im not sure how well they work.

the Sigma 105 macro is great

as is the Pentax DA35 macro if you decide to go KX
