      my new LED's

i picked up some new LED lights from an AWESOME LFS up here by my house in LA. the store is called The Fish Collection. the owner is great, the corals are incredible, oh, and he offers LED lights for $350!!!
i got the 120w pendant, and it is brighter than my 250w icecap MH. the color pop is amazing. it comes with a 2 year warranty that covers everything but water damage. the lights are the same as these, http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_viewit...TFILDTN-UU1111 , but it is the 120w version. if i recall they were saying it'd be $799 for this light through marine depot. this guy direct imports them, and you save. there is also a 180w pendant, for i think $450.
if you are in LA area, check the store out. if you want LED's, definitely check it out. his entire store is lit by these lights, so you can see the performance in person.
      here are some pics. enjoy!
      here is the store info:

very similar to that one. this one has 2 chords and 2 switches so you can run just blues, or just whites, or both of course.
i'll have to measure it tomorrow, but it's roughly 16"Lx6"Wx3"H.
i have it 5" over my 60g cube.

      Jon,
Did you picked up the 120w or 180w version for you 60g cube? Definately worth the $ as far as PAR, shimmer, & overall brightness compared to MH? I'm thinking about getting these.

i got the 120w. it is as bright visually, if not brighter than my 250w MH i had on it. i have noticed zoa's on the bottom that were stretching for light with the MH are no stretching now. the shimmer is as good as MH. the colors are better, especially when you run just the blues as i like to do. it is obviously too soon to tell how growth will be affected, but i'm not trying to set growth records. if i had to do it all over again, i would do these LED's.
the 120w is more than enough for my 60g cube.

Looks great! Hopefully you can find someone with a PAR meter to get some readings in your tank.

Thinking about doing what Jessy did, it's pretty clean looking. Definately get them par readings in, it's enough to support sps and rbta's right?

should be plenty. i have SPS on the sand bed, and even though it is VERY early to tell actual results, they look great, colors are popping beautifully. polyp extension is normal.
