      shippping a car to texas?

So my lady is shipping her car out to TX where she'll be for a few months. Anyone have any experience shipping cars? Any companies you've used, things to look for in a comp etc etc. Also an offshoot..any special type of oil that would do her Honda Fit good in the higher heat? She's about due for a change anyways.

It will usually run somewhere around $600 to ship a car, all I can suggest is to look for a few compaines that ship cars and do your reasearch on each company, BBB is the perfect place to start. I used a company that has their business down off mission gorge rd to ship my 68 mustang to a guy in Kanas that I sold it to. The car showed up with a flat tire, the hood was open, the battery and air cleaner were missing and the wheel with the flat tire was damaged. So I would for those compaines that specialize in classic cars because they are lot more reputable and safe and will also ship regular cars, so lI would look for those.
As far as oil goes I would just stick with the manufactures reccomendations, fits are fairly new cars and new cars are egineered with tight tolerances. Older cars I would put a heavier weight oil in to help handle the heat but her car will be fine with the oil it was designed for.

Why not just drive? Last time I drove from San Diego to Dallas, it took 18 hours.
