Let me check my budget but I'm gonna need 4 or 6 bulbs worth of 24" retrofit kits (the cheap ones with cheap ballast, not the icecaps).

These retros use advanced ballast. These are great ballast and are meant for T5 lights. I've heard the icecap ballast are really meant to run T8s and just have the sockets changed to make them T5 compatable. The person I got this info from does fishtanks for a living. Building them and maintaining them. He told me that advanced ballast were the cheapest and best ballast you could get for the money.
