      Holy Sh!+ my cucumber multiplied!

So I have had my tiger tail sea cucumber for almost a year now. He was about 5" to 6" normal size. Today I saw part of it sticking out of my sand, this is normal. But then I noticed another end sticking out of the sand on the other side of the tank. I double checked and another cucumber has appeared. Now I have two, I thought it was cool. I didn't know these guys split.

yep. it usually means there isn't enough food to support the big body. it splits to up it's chance of survival. use less fuel and hope the other goes in the opposite direction looking for food. you may want to consider getting rid of one.

Mine split about a year ago and I now have one that is about 4 inch long and the original that is back to being about 10 to 12 inches long. I kept both in my tank and they are fine - 180 gallons. Granted when this one splits again, I will get rid of one.

Thats cool, I didn't know that they split either. I have a cucumber in my 180 that I have had for years, every now and then I have to dig him out of my over flow but he has never split. He's a big guy too, bigger than an Oscar Myer! Can't remeber the name of it though.
