Dave, tank is looking great, you have so much real estate, I'm jealous
I've noticed my Emerald Crab will pick at various corals but I've never seen them take a chunk off a coral, usually they are just going for algae that they are trying to scrape off, usually the coral will just shrink up and reopen after the crab has moved along.
How did you tackle the Cyano issue? Water changes and skimmer? I've been siphoning out as much as possible and keeping up with weekly 20% water changes hopefully it'll correct itself soon its an eye sore
Yeah, the bummer though is he's knocking corals off, even the glued down corals.
Cyano typically comes and goes on new systems.
WC's w/ RO/DI and good skimming, good flow, fuge w/ chaeto help resolve nutrient issues.
An occasional lights out period can benefit as well.

Ah, ya they are terribly strong, haven't had a run in with my fingers yet but they look pretty tough picking at the hard hair algae. I'll keep on siphoning out whatever I can during water changes and cross my fingers. Thanks
Dave, where have you gone? No posts from you in quite some time...Steve

LOL, what a trip, haven't even been on here for a while other than checking PM's, and strange seeing my tank thread even still alive.
Just basically dealing w/ economy/$$ issues, so don't really have funds for anything on tank, and you know how it goes going to any reef function, pretty much need $$ to have fun, so basically taking a break from here and focussing on keeping business alive.
Glad someone remembers me w/out calling me bad names!LOL

Understandable. Remember, I worked in construction for 11 years before my current gig. Are you maintaining the 150, though?

what did u do with ur old tanks??
Yes, still have my 150g running and going great, clowns are looking awesome, CBB is eating prep'd food just fine now, all seems cool.
Still running my planted goldy tank too.
I decided no matter how tight things get I'm not selling my reeftank and starting all over again, I kinda regret doing that w/ my 180g.
Thanks for kind words Roland!
